How to Succeed at Virtually Anything

Haydn music

The composer Haydn had a terrible burden with all the composing that was expected of him.  He struggled intensely to produce the quota that was required.

One can only imagine the stress that is put on a creative mind when creativity becomes a commodity, when one’s paycheck is directly tied to one’s creativity.

The answer, it is said, is that Haydn prayed daily for strength to produce the material that God wanted him to produce.  I suspect that it was Haydn’s very practical prayer life that caused him to be success he was.

As the old hymn says, “oh what peace we often forfeit, oh what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.”

Jesus was radical in teaching his disciples that God answers prayer.  If we are truly Christ-followers, we have to constantly remind ourselves of the value of prayer.

If you will take the time to pray, you will be used by God to accomplish His plans through you to change the world.
